This etching is a view along what is now the north side of Trafalgar Square to St. Martin in the Fields, with the old King's Mews (on the site of the National Gallery) to the left and the portico of the College of Physicians to the right. Engraved by Henry Winsor Bond (1804-1881) from an original pencil drawing by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. From Shepherd's series "Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century" (London : 1827-1830).

The etching comes matted in a lovely gilt and wood frame. 

Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Frame measures 13.5" x 11.5". Etching measures 7" x 5"
